Jacob turned 7 this month. I can hardly believe he is 7 already. Celebrating his birthday this year was different than I'm used to... not to mention it was Mother's Day, which made it special.
First I decided to start a new tradition. The birthday person gets to pick all the food we eat that day. He really seemed to enjoy that a lot. We celebrated with just us and had a present hunt. He loved it. We gave him clues and he had to go around the house and find the gifts. It seemed to go over better than wrapping them. We ended thay night with Sundaes instead of cake. His choice.
This past weekend, Jacob decided to go play mini golf with a couple friends instead of having a party.
So he invited his friend Scott & Skyler to play with him. "Aunt Shawna" came too with little Ethan.
We went to this neat place that has everything in it called Hollywood Connection. It has an indoor roller coaster, roller skating, lazar tag, mini golf, a few kiddie rides and Im sure there is more to it. First we played mini golf.
The kids skipped around and zoomed through it, but they had fun.
Then somehow I convinced Jacob to go on the roller coaster! LOL. He started to cry after the first round. When he got off, he was mad at me... poor kid. It was good for him- got his adrenaline pumpin :)
They had lots of fun.
So although very non-traditional, Jacob had a really good birthday. He made most of the choices, and I think that is what made it special for him. Thank you to those who sent best wishes to my baby Jacob :)

The picture with the boys on the mountain looks fantastic! Too bad Ethan kept sliding. He thought it was a play slide!
I never thought my son at age 2 would be getting on a roller coaster. He loved it though. Died laughing the whole time.
